This is a question that is often asked.
Most people usually take them down in early January. In accordance with the Roman Catholic and Anglican Church Calendar, "Christmastide", the liturgical season of Christmas, is 12 days long, culminating with the Feast of the Epiphany on January 6th, and thus the tree is taken down after the 'Twelve Days of Christmas'-- some purists won't even light it until Christmas Eve! But for those for whom Christmas a secular holiday, it's completely up to you.
It is sometimes explained to children that if you take down your lights before January 6 the Wise Men may not be able to find their way, because the star traditionally placed on the very top of Christmas trees represents the star God used to guide the Magi.
When do you take yours Down? We would love to know.
